Demention. Hbot. Glioblastoma. Radiation therapy consequences.

Dear Stephen! Dear all!

My mom has demention because of hydrocephalus, as well as, probably, in connection with radiation therapy. Today she will have a shunt. However, we need to treat the consequences. One person said that in England in this case they use hbot.
Questions:

1) can hbot cause glioblastoma progression? I read that this procedure improves blood supply, because the tumor is usually well supplied with blood vessels and blood supply could it make worse? Or is it incoherent things? We are currently taking Avastin.

2) could hbot really help with demention? Any experience?

3) could you please advise other good methods to treat demention and consequences of radiation therapy? Cbd oil, lions mane, ps100?
Thank you!

  1. There's no evidence that HBOT causes progression in humans. There was a rat study showing this, but it hasn't been replicated by other labs.

Based on this rodent study I would approach HBOT with caution. However, combining with Avastin could counteract the tendency of HBOT to increase microvessel density in the tumor.

You could have a look at Ginkgo biloba.

    1. Dear Stephen, thank you so much!
Just ordered Ginkgo, will try it! And we will try hbot.
And one more question please, what do you think about Nootropics (out neurological doctor prescribed it) ? I suppose it is not the best way to treat demention with gbm.
The full list of his prescription is: Mexidol, Ceraxon, Gliatilin, Semax, Pantocalcin. What do you think about it and possible gbm progression?
      Thank you!

  2. Do you mean Dementia? Just double checking.

If you mean Dementia I would recommend A. Lions Mane Mushroom supplement (medicinal mushroom). You can order on AMZ, you could start at 1,000mg/day - make sure its a good source - organic and grown in the USA and B. Provigil (prescription). Both of these are "nootropics" and to me make total sense for a GBM patient. My Uncle takes them both and they have greatly enhanced his energy and memory capabilities.
Once a person has gone through debulking and radiation it is highly likely that they have forever lost some of their cognitive and memory abilities (depending on where the tumor was located). My Uncle had an unideal location for his tumor, however both of those supplements as well as Matcha Tea help with some losses of energy, cognition, and memory.

    1. Hi! Yes, I mean dementia, sorry for my english.
Thank you so much for the answer and for lions mane, a lot of people advised it to me! Have already ordered.
But I’m so afraid to give nootropics, to provoke growth. Really don’t know what to do.
