Metformin influences progression in diabetic glioblastoma patients

Study abstract here

I haven't read it yet, but already uploaded it to the Brain Tumor Library (Folder 1 human studies -> metformin)

From the abstract: "Interestingly, diabetic patients with metformin therapy demonstrated prolonged progression-free intervals."

I will probably summarize the findings on Astrocytoma Options soon.

  1. The title of this article would lead one to believe Metformin leads to tumor progression.

I think study included diabetic patients (which isn't mentioned in title). All the sci-hub links I have are down at the moment, so I can't check.

This study was looking at a subgroup of 177 brain tumor patients who also had diabetes. 55 of them were on metformin and some were on other diabetes drugs.
