The UCLA Alzheimer Translation Center extrapolates human doses of 2000 to 4000 mg Longvida daily (4-8 capsules) based on animal studies:http://alzheimer.neurology.ucla.edu/Curcumin.html
So there are a fair number of supplements with Longvida. Which do you trust?
I went with this one. Welcome any data anyone has found on specific brands. I picked this one based on GMP certification and solid price. http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Curcubrain-Longvida-Count/dp/B00K31PXSU
This is the one I get. ProHealth Optimized Curcumin Longvida (500 mg - 60 Veg Capsules) - 3 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SI96M48/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_GGd6wbP60SMVD
Hello guys, did anyone consider taking piperine together with Longvida curcumin (or any other brand) ? It is supposed to enhance bioavailability, so I was wondering if bioperine 10mg would be a good addition to take together with curcumin
Piperine is a good idea if you're taking unformulated curcumin as you would need any help you can get with bioavailability. On the other hand it probably doesn't make a big difference if you're taking curcumin as Longvida:"For example, oral gavage of an optimized, lipidated curcumin formulation (Verdure Sciences, Noblesville, IN; www.verduresciences.com) resulted in 11-fold higher levels of curcumin in plasma and 4-fold higher levels in brain compared with equal doses of curcumin powder or curcumin-piperine extracts."http://jpet.aspetjournals.org/content/326/1/196.long
We purchase our curcumin (Longvida) from International Nutrition(Nutrivene). I enquired about their curcumin and their email response was "Our product is the original Longvida and we purchase our capsules directly from the manufacturer." They offer a discount if you order regularly or order in large quantities. www.nutrivene.com
