Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT) or Ozone therapy

Does anyone have any observations or experience around the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy or Ozone therapy to aid the radiation and chemo?  There are some online posting we've seen claiming that it helps the radiation and chemo process with tumor cell oxygenation, radio-sensitivity and lessening radiation side effect.

Two questions:
 -  Any pros or cons comments about HBOT or Ozone with Radiation and Chemo?
 -  How does this work with or against anti-oxidants supplements such as curcumin, CoQ10, etc?

thanks!

  1. Check out this blog post on ozone therapy

I commented on Hyperbaric oxygen on the Radiation page, and do believe that it is a good idea to combine with radiation, but it has to be done immediately prior to radiation to get maximum effect.

I have seen mouse studies showing hyperbaric oxygen by itself can promote the growth of mouse gliomas, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend using it as a stand alone therapy.

  2. I agree with Stephen. Please be careful with oxygen treatment. We tried it with PD-1 and the tumor grew exponentially on it. Best of luck

  3. I reached out to Dr. Warnick who tried a clinical trial with HBOT a while ago. He suggested to entertain it only within a clinical trial context, as his patient had the tumor growth - reason was unknown but he thought there is a bit risk of oxygen probably creating new blood vessel formation. We are still evaluating. It seems it has to be within 15-20 mins of radiation, else it may not work.
