Celebrex?

Hi all I understand the importance of cox-2 inhibitors for antiangiogenesis but I am having a tuff time trying to buy it here in the uk. Oncologist are in willing to prescribe anything I suggest and I do not want to just buy it from any website.
Has anyone had any success with getting hold of Celebrex?

  1. Have you asked a general practitioner yet for a celecoxib prescription? Sometimes they are more comfortable in prescribing these non-oncology drugs than oncologists are.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that. We have not yet gone down the celebrex route but my husband is taking other cocktail meds that need a prescription, so we are very familiar with the oncologist response. We are lucky in that our GP has been very supportive. Have you been referred to a Palliative Care community nurse and/or doctor? In our experience they are able to cut through a lot of red tape and give support to our GP's view that patient wellbeing is more important than ticking boxes. They may be able either to persuade your GP to change their stance or find you a different GP.
We can't afford to take no for an answer so if I were you I would also share your story and the letter to Joe Biden posted by Matjaz on this site with your MP.

  5. Bahahaha! It's good to find a laugh here, is it not? Thanks, Fred! Dayle May, I happen to have a supply of Celebrex that Chance could not use once he developed bloodclots. I am in the U.S. - California - and I would be happy to send it to you. I'm sure some kind of customs statement would be required. Anyone have any ideas? And if this is not an appropriate discussion for this site, my email is judegilford@gmail.com.

Just wondering why Chance couldn't take celebrex after he had developed blood clots.

    2. Linda - A concession to the Hematologist. Chance was taking Coumadin and Lovenox for the blood clots and the doc asked that he not take Celebrex.
