An email from Anders had information about a treatment for cancer that was similar to Optune but uses a lower frequency, which Anders says is probably better and is certainly more affordable around $4500.00 Aus. I think they have had limited success with GBM but more successful with some other brain tumours. Here's the link it's worth a look.

I'm a bit skeptical about it. The way how the results are presented differ from the usual way. They mentioned also that it works great for astrocytoma but not that great for low-grade glioma. The Optune solution should be used 20h-22h per day to get the optimal results. As I understood the reason for that is to hit the cells in the process of divide. If you wear it only 15 min per day thank you miss that point.
ReplyDeleteBut it would be great if this would work. Optune is not an option for my wife as the tumor is located in the brainstem. Maybe it would be possible with this product. I will send them a mail to check for more information.
Did anybody found any patients posts about this product. I couldn't find any.
I totally share your scepticism, it is almost too good to be true. I also didn't find anything except the news article that the inventor got some kind of country award ( http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2015/08/21/scientist-awarded-cancer-therapy.html )...other than that nothing - no trials, no patient's experience, nothing :(
