My doctor prescribed Methylphenidate to help with fatigue. I don't really know whether it helps or it is placebo, sometimes I do feel energetic, sometimes not. Anyway, I don't take it every day. What do you think possible interactions could be with our "standard" cocktail?

According to drugs.com, the main interactions to watch out for with methylphenidate and the cocktail drugs we discuss here are with sertraline and fluoxetine (Prozac).
ReplyDelete"Coadministration with methylphenidate may increase the plasma concentrations and effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)"
Also it is advised to avoid alcohol while on methylphenidate.
Thanks a lot Stepgen. I guess i will drop methylphenidate then since I do not see much effect from it anyway.
DeleteWhat dose are you on? I'm on The extended release LA at 40mg. I wish I could up it to 60mg. It does work for me, but I fade in the afternoon. One thing that I've found important is to take it on an empty stomach. Seems like I don't get that initial boost if I take it too close with food.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, 60? I am at 5 mg. maybe that is why I don't see drastic changes, the dose is too low. How long have you been taking it?
