What could be side effects of PD1 inhibitors+ DC vaccines.Choosing immunotherapy clinic.

I am trying to choose a clinic in Germany. Some of them use only PD1 inhibitors in combination with DC Vaccines and others use DC vaccines with tetanus booster etc.
I am wondering what would be pros or cons of one versus another. Debating if to go for expensive PD1 inhibitor and peptide vaccine with unknown side effects or tetnus booster and peptide vaccine. Some of those clinics use 2 checkpoint inhibitors at once plus peptide vaccine. The side effects on nivo site seem scary. On the other hand tetanus booster plus cmv did not have any.

  1. Here is something interesting: Stefan van Gool has joined IOZK (September 2015).

I've heard of other clinics using DC vaccines plus PD-1 and low dose CTLA-4 antibodies for brain tumor patients (such as Professor Slavin in Israel).

I think you would be in good hands at IOZK, although I have not had a chance to read all the material at their website yet.

  2. Anna is researching several German clinics that offer immunotherapy with dendritic cell (DC) vaccines in combination with other agents that enhance immune responses such as PD-1 antibodies (nivolumab/Opdivo and pembrolizumab/Keytruda). IOZK is one of the clinics in Germany that offers these therapies.

I'm not aware of any clinic offering DC vaccines outside of clinical trials in the USA, and the PD-1 inhibitors are very expensive, although there are many clinical trials testing these drugs for GBM.

  3. We are planning to travel to get some NVD+DC combinated teraphy in Duderstadt once my wife fully recovered. Yesterday had her 3rd surgery due to a massive cyst (orange size...the big ones). Fortunatedly we have some tumor tissue stored to improve our odds. Looking forward to be there as soon as possible.

  4. Hi, does anyone have any experience with either IOZK or Duderstadt? Any other clinic that should be considered for DC Vaccine + PD-1?

    1. Guy, and everyone. I've created a table in the Library, which attempts to organize the pertinent information about Duderstadt, IOZK, Unifontis and Hallwang clinics in Germany. This is information I've gleaned from either their websites or from people such as Anna who have written to them for more details. It is by no means complete, but it provides a framework for comparing these clinics. Guy, if you'd like access to the Library on Google Drive, send me an email (my email address on User Information page).
